The Arts and Cultural Production Satellite Account (ACPSA) is an effort of the US BEA and NEA to measure the annual size of the arts and cultural economic activity across the 50 US states and DC.
Its primary measures are the “value added” (a contribution to economic activity akin to the gross domestic product or GDP), number of employees, and the compensation paid to employees. It measures each of these by year and state for many different arts and culture industries and related support industries.
This database shows per-capita (for value-added and employees) and per-job (for compensation) figures for each state for the most recent year available. It shows this for all arts-and-cultural industries as well as for just the “core” industries and just the “supporting” industries.
